Wessel’s team coined the term Infant Colic for the disorder in babies in the 1950s. 3 symptoms are required to diagnose infant colic:
1. crying more than 3 hours a day
2. more than 3 days in a week
3. for more than 3 weeks.

May parents will describe their child as inconsolable, irritable infants. Some speculate it stems from excessive gas or irritation to the digestive system, but research shows this occurs in less than 25% of colicky babies. (illingsworth,1985; miller & barr 1991)

Although colic may not have a specific cure, gentle chiropractic adjustments can be beneficial in easing your baby and allowing for a decrease in the length of time the crying lasts.
