Are Masks Effective?
June 17, 2020 Posted in: ASK AN EXPERT
Recently published research have indicated that face masks prevent transmission of various bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. When research participants exhale their breath without wearing a face mask, not only were virus detected in large droplets, but also in small particle aerosols. When wearing a surgical face mask, it substantial reduced the virus from being introduced into the environment. A face mask helps block the large droplets & aerosols from travelling further into the environment. This means everyone should wear a mask, even if they are asymptomatic to hold their own droplets to prevent transmitting the virus to one another.
