As a ‘cross-fitter’ herself, Dr. Jacquelyn Nicholls has a unique perspective on the requirements of a crossfit athlete.
As she often says; “The warm- up of a crossfit athlete is what the average person’s whole workout is.” This is important to realize the amazing feats they are accomplishing but also to realize the strain and physical toll that will occur as well.
Injuries can be devastating; the athlete has worked tirelessly to become stronger/faster/ more coordinated etc. Our job is to get you back as safely and as fast as we can. Rarely, do I say ‘stop all activity’. Usually I will work with your coach and within your limitations to modify your training to maintain your gains.”
